A 35-year-old man was feared to have drowned in the Kowkoor lake in Jawaharnagar on Sunday afternoon.
Hyderabad: A 35-year-old man was feared to have drowned in the Kowkoor lake in Jawaharnagar on Sunday afternoon. Police said Mohammed Ghouse of Enginebowli, Falaknuma, had gone to the Kowkoor dargah along with family members.
The family had gone to the dargah to offer prayers following the death of Rasheed’s four-year-old son due to pneumonia nine days ago. After the visit, the family went to the lake to take a bath.
Ghouse, who did not know how to swim, reportedly entered a deeper part of the lake and drowned. His family called the police who went to the lake along with fire personnel and launched a rescue operation.
Despite several hours of search, Ghouse could not be traced. Due to bad light, officials stopped the operation for now and would resume on Monday morning.
