Hyderabad: The Special Sessions Court for Pocso Act cases in Hyderabad sentenced a 29‑year‑old man to 25 years of rigorous imprisonment for raping a minor boy and threatening him into silence.
The accused, Kali Aman Kumar alias Akshay of Puranapul, was convicted in a case registered at Kamatipura police station. Police said he lured his neighbour’s 10‑year‑old son into his house on the pretext of watching television and subjected him to repeated abuse over four months in 2023. The victim was threatened with dire consequences if he revealed the crime.
The incident came to light after the boy’s father lodged a complaint on December 2, 2023.
Delivering the verdict on Wednesday, Special Sessions Judge Kumari Archana sentenced the accused to 25 years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of ₹10,000. The court also directed payment of ₹75,000 as compensation to the victim.
