Man Gets 25 Years Jail Term for Raping Minor

Police slap POCSO provisions against the accused

Hyderabad: The Xllth Additional Sessions Judge of the Nampally Special Court, on Wednesday, sentenced a 45–year–old man to undergo 25 years of imprisonment after he was found guilty in a POCSO case (protection of children from sexual offences). The accused Mohammed Fareed, a resident of Biryani Shah Tekri Basharathnagar, Jahanuma, was arrested by Bhadurpura police in 2020 after the minor’s parents lodged a complaint against him for sexually assaulting their daughter. The judge T. Anitha also slapped a fine of Rs 10,000 on the accused.

The accused was booked (crime number 286 of 2020) under section 376 (2) (n) 506 of the IPC and section (5) read with (6) of the POCSO Act by the Bhadurpura police. After the pronouncement of the judgement, the convict was sent to Chanchalguda prison.
