Man held at Secunderabad railway station for smuggling ganja to Pune
Railway police conducts surprise check at Secunderabad station

Hyderabad: The Government Railway Police (GRP) in coordination with the Rapid Action Force (RPF) arrested a 36-year-old person from Pune in Maharashtra for smuggling ganja.
The police said Laxman Sambhaji Mogal was working as an agricultural labourer while his associate Manoranjan Das of Pune in Maharashtra was absconding. After he lost his left hand in a train accident in 2006, Mogal could not take up other jobs and continued working as an agricultural laborer in his village for low wages.
As he decided to earn easy money, he came in contact with Das, who promised to pay Rs.5,000 per trip if he transported ganja from Chatrapur in Odisha to Pune. Moghal transported ganja thrice last month and got Rs.5000 for each trip.
Accordingly on February 2, Mogal went to Chatrapur railway station and sat in the general coach of Konark Express train. An unknown person brought three bags containing ganja and placed them under his seat. While he was moving under suspicious circumstances when the train reached Secunderabad station on Monday at 11.20 am, the police checked him only to find 56.285 kg dry ganja worth Rs.14.07 lakh and arrested him.
