Adilabad: Mancherial police seized 23.5 kg of ganja valued at Rs 11 lakh on Thursday during a raid on a godown of Y Info Solutions at IB Crossroad, run by Soma Praveenkumar, which was reportedly disguising ganja sales as CCTV camera deals. A police team led by DCP Bhaskar discovered the ganja, packed in cotton boxes, and detained several people seen moving suspiciously near the site.
Cases have been registered against 22 persons, with 11 arrests made. Among those arrested from Mancherial are Satish Kumar (34), Mahd Sameer (19), a minor, Beema Anudeep (21), Mohd Abdul Ubed (22), Guduru Ramu, SK Athahur, SK Sameer, and Jadi Raghavendra Swami (23). Two individuals from Karimnagar, Arjun Baburao Chowhan (26) and Mohd Azeez (19), were also taken into custody. Local agents reportedly sell ganja sachets for Rs 200-300 each in Mancherial and nearby areas.
Ramagundam police commissioner M. Srinivas briefed the media on the operation, while Peddapalli DCP Chethana, DCP (Adm) Raju, and other officials attended the press conference.
