Maoist Party Central Committee Member Protection Group Commander Surrenders

The Police Commissioner revealed that Kesha surrendered as she was attracted by the rehabilitation schemes offered by the Telangana state government to surrendered Maoist members.

Warangal: Vanjem Kesha alias Jinni, a banned CPI (Maoist) party member and Protection Group Commander of the Gothikoya Area Committee, surrendered before Warangal Police Commissioner Amber Kishore Jha on Friday.

Disclosing details regarding this surrender, the Warangal Police Commissioner stated that Vanjem Kesha's father, Hidma (currently in jail), from Rasapalli village, Pamed mandal, Bijapur district in Chhattisgarh, was also a Maoist party worker. Kesha, who was involved with the Chaitanya Natya Mandali in her childhood, came into contact with members of the Maoist party. She joined the Maoist party in 2017 through Palmed Local Squad Commander Gotte Kamala and worked in the Chaitanya Natya Mandali under the leadership of Punnem Joga for two years. In the same year, the party leadership transferred Kesha to the Abujmad area, where she was appointed as a member of the Protection Group for Central Committee member Kadari Satyanarayana Reddy.
In 2021, the central Maoist leadership appointed Kesha as a member of the Area Committee. After serving as a member of the Protection Group until December 2022, she worked briefly in the North Bastar Division, where she married another Maoist Area Committee member, Ramesh (currently lodged in a Maharashtra jail). Later, in April 2024, She became the woman commander of Protection Group for Central Committee member Kadari Satyanarayana Reddy.
While working in the party, Kesha was involved in the killing of a police officer and the serious injury of another police officer in a shootout with Maoist members in the Kohilabeda police station area. Additionally, she was involved in the killing of a police officer during a shootout in the Abujmadlo area. Kesha is the accused in both incidents.
The Police Commissioner revealed that Kesha surrendered as she was attracted by the rehabilitation schemes offered by the Telangana state government to surrendered Maoist members. Additionally, there is a reward of Rs 4 lakh on Kesha, who voluntarily surrendered to the police.
