Maoist with ₹4 lakh bounty on head surrenders
Kothagudem: Kalumu Payiki (28), a member of the banned CPI (Maoist) Kerlapal Area Committee, surrendered to superintendent of police B. Rohit Raju on Thursday.
A native of Palya in Sukma district, Chhattisgarh, Payiki joined the outlawed group in 2009 and rose to the rank of area committee member. She was reportedly involved in several destructive operations conducted by the outfit and carried a bounty of ₹4 lakh on her head.
According to superintendent Raju, Payiki surrendered due to health issues and alleged discrimination by senior party leaders.
