Heavy rain expected to lash Telangana on Friday

Hyderabad: With the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing an yellow alert for high and medium rainfall in Telangana, the state is expected to witness massive downpours on Friday.

The seven day weather bulletin issued by the met department indicates that the state will likely witness heavy rains until September 3 in most places.
For Friday, the Meteorological Centre predicted "Heavy to Very Heavy rain" very likely in Adilabad, KomaramBheem Asifabad, Mancherial, and Jagital, while Heavy Rain is very likely in Nirmal, Nizamabad, Rajanna Sirsilla, Karimnagar, Peddapalli,Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajigiri districts.
"Thunderstorms accompanied with Lightning and gusty winds (40-50 kmph) are very likely to occur at isolated places in many districts of Telangana," the IMD warned.
In addition, social media personality and independent weather predictor 'Telangana weatherman' also cautioned the citizens of heavy downpours. "Massive downpours ahead across East, Central, South TG during afternoon - morning hours. Multiple spells to lash. North TG will get Moderate - heavy rains during same period. Hyderabad will also get 1 or 2 spells of scattered HEAVY RAINS today," he wrote on 'X'.
