Hyderabad: Apart from focussing on Hyderabad and its vicinity, the Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) has major developmental plans for Mucherla in line with the ‘master plan 2050’ and the vision of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.
Some of the major components of the plans that will be executed by MA&UD and its wings include a comprehensive mobility plan for the city and developing townships through a land pooling scheme by acquiring 30,000 acres of land at 29 locations within HMDA jurisdiction.
These are in addition to developing and expanding 51 radial roads from the outer ring road (ORR) and regional ring road (RRR). Besides development of infrastructure, also in place are recreational and environment conservation measures.
“As conduct of sports events will bring the host city/town to prominence, stadiums will be built for 12 specific disciplines,” said a MA&UD official. He also said that huge lung spaces will be developed in the city’s vicinity.
“When the United States and Singapore can have such lung spaces, why can’t Hyderabad and its surroundings have similar international standard lung spaces,” he wondered.
The state government is expecting that 15.3 million square feet of construction space will be required for data centres by 2025 and they are developing infrastructure accordingly.
An official from the HMDA said that the master plan 2050 is not restricted merely to zoning regulations. It will, instead, focus equally on all aspects in order to facilitate smoother mobility.
“Lee Associates is studying the comprehensive mobility plan. Presently, there are 77 lakh vehicles within the HMDA jurisdiction and seven lakh vehicles are being added every year,” he said.
Speaking about the land pooling scheme, he said that, while a few are 1,000-acre projects, some are around 500 acres. The Uppal Bhagayath project is a very small one, comparatively.
He pointed out that there are 61 industrial parks within HMDA limits. The 27 radial roads, which are presently around 40-50 feet, will be widened to 200 feet.
“The Chief Minister has directed MA&UD officials to ensure that every radial will have a ‘right of way’ (ROW) and a service road as they play a vital role in creating a futuristic city,” he said.
