Medchal-Malkajgiri District Industries Department Officer in ACB Net

Hyderabad: Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) here on Monday arrested Medchal-Malkajgiri District Industries Center Additional Director K. Venkata Narsi Reddy when he allegedly demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs.45,000 from a complainant Kethavath Ramesh.

Reddy allegedly demanded bribe from Ramesh, a resident of Yellammabanda in Kukatpally, for doing an official favour to inspect tipper vehicle purchased for Rs. 53 lakh under Telangana State Programme for Rapid Incubation of Dalit Entrepreneurs Incentive Scheme (TSPRIDE) and to submit a report to higher officials for sanctioning incentive under the scheme.

Reddy performed his duty improperly and dishonestly, ACB officials said, adding that the bribe amount was recovered from Reddy’s diary at his instance and the contact portion of the diary yielded positive in a chemical test. The ACB officials produced Reddy before the special court for ACB cases in Nampally.
