Hyderabad: Woman Injected With HIV+ Blood, Dies By Suicide
As per reports, the 22-year–old woman who was supposed to marry the accused Manohar last month had called off the wedding after she and her family got to know of his medical condition.
Hyderabad: A woman who was allegedly injected with HIV-positive blood by a man for calling off the proposed marriage, committed suicide out of depression, at her residence on Friday.
As per reports, the 22-year–old woman who was supposed to marry the accused Manohar last month had called off the wedding after she and her family got to know of his medical condition. Upset that she had called off the wedding, the accused procured a syringe, filled it with his blood, went to the woman’s house on March 11, and forcibly injected his blood into her forearm.
The woman developed pain and infection at the injection site, and she developed a fever. Her family members took her to a hospital in Uppal, and when the doctors questioned her, she then disclosed that the accused had forcibly injected his blood into her.
Manohar, a resident of Rajiv Gruha Kalpa Colony in Annojiguda, was arrested on March 15th by the Pocharam IT Corridor Police Station and is currently in jail on remand.
Her relatives said that after the incident, she went into depression, and when her mother was in another room, she hung herself and died. The body was sent to Gandhi Hospital for a post-mortem and handed over to her parents.
The accused, who had come from Jangaon village, had moved to the city several years ago in search of a livelihood. Police reports state that his parents were also HIV positive, and his father had died some time ago. They hid the facts from the girl's family.
A case under Section 109 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, was registered against the accused, and the police might alter the case, adding Section 306 (abetment to suicide).
