Medical Camp Organised After 20 Deaths in Mulugu District

Warangal: In response to over 20 deaths in less than two months, the medical and health department organised a medical camp on Monday at Jangalapally village, under the Rain Gudem Primary Health Centre in Mulugu district.

District Medical and Health Officer (DM&HO) Dr Gopal Rao led a team of specialist doctors, medical staff, and technicians who conducted medical tests for approximately 180 villagers. Blood samples were collected from 22 people suffering from severe health issues.

During an awareness programme, Dr Rao explained that the recent deaths were primarily due to natural causes such as old age and chronic diseases. He urged residents to seek treatment from certified doctors instead of unqualified practitioners and emphasised the importance of a healthy lifestyle, including regular blood pressure and diabetes check-ups for those over 30.

Before the camp, the medical team, along with ASHA and Anganwadi workers, held a health rally to eliminate mosquito larvae by cleaning water storage areas and promoting hygiene to prevent disease outbreaks.

Key officials present at the event included programme officer Dr Srikanth, media officer Sampath, assistant malaria officer Durga Rao, and PHC medical officer Dr Prasad, among others.
