Medical services in rural areas better now: Health minister

Nizamabad: Health minister C. Damodar Rajanarsimha announced major improvements to medical services in rural and tribal areas on Sunday. Under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s directive, the state is prioritising healthcare enhancements, including the upcoming establishment of cancer treatment centres in Nizamabad and Adilabad.

Minister Rajanarsimha, accompanied by MLC B. Mahesh Kumar Goud and adviser Mohammad Ali Shabbir, inaugurated a new primary health centre at Renjal, Nizamabad. He also held a review meeting with district medical officers from Nizamabad and Kamareddy at the Government General Hospital, attended by MLAs P. Sudarshan Reddy, R. Bhupati Reddy, and Paidi Rakesh Reddy.
Emphasising accountability, Rajanarsimha warned that government doctors favouring private practice would face strict action. He assured that hospital facilities would be fully equipped and vacancies filled promptly to meet healthcare needs.
Highlighting Nizamabad’s role, the minister stated it will become a medical hub for surrounding Telangana districts. Officials present included district collector Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu and health officers Ajay Kumar and Vani.
