Missing Kirana Shop Owner’s Body Discovered in SR Nagar
HYDERABAD: A 45-year-old Kirana shop owner, who was kidnapped by an unknown miscreant in Punjagutta police limits on December 29, was found murdered on Wednesday in SR Nagar police limits. Body was identified as Vishnu Rupani based on a tattoo of a tiger.
The deceased was identified as Vishnu Rupani, 45, resident of Yellareddyguda of Ameerpet in Punjagutta police limits. He was running a kirana shop in Yellareddyguda.
According to police, a case was registered on December 29 based on a complaint lodged by his family members alleging that Vishnu Rupani went missing on December 28 and did not return home. When the family members called his mobile phone, it was switched off. The family members also alleged that unknown miscreants might have been indulged in kidnapping/missing the victim. Based on the complaint, police registered a kidnap case and took up a probe.
AS part of investigation, the Punjagutta police circulated the picture of victim along with identifications such as a tiger tattoo mark on his body. The circular was also sent to all police stations in Hyderabad, CYberabad and Rachakonda limits for verification and asked to inform to Punjagutta police if any unknown dead bodies were noticed.
On Thursday, residents of SR Nagar noticed a foul smell emanating from a locked residence and informed the police. The SR Nagar patrolling team visited the place and found a body inside the locked home. Immediately, police broke open the lock and entered into a home in which a dead man was found.
During the verification of body, police found tiger tattoo marks on his body and informed to Punjagutta police. Upon receiving information, Punjagutta police visited the place along with family members of VIshnu Rupani. The family members identified the body as Vishnu Rupani.
Police shifted the body to the mortuary for postmortem. Based on the PME report, police would initiate action altering sections to kidnap and murder.
