Nizamabad: The death of K. Sai Charan, an assistant executive engineer with Mission Bhagiratha, has shocked Nizamabad district. Sai Charan, citing work pressure, reportedly consumed pesticides and died while undergoing treatment in Hyderabad on Wednesday. His last rites were held on Thursday in his native village, Khanapur, Nirmal district.
Sai Charan, a resident of Subhashnagar in Nizamabad along with his parents, was appointed as an assistant executive engineer three months ago and was posted in Dharpally mandal. On Tuesday, after leaving home for work, he returned to Nizamabad but stopped near Nadpally village in Dichpally mandal, where he took pesticides and called for an ambulance.
Initially treated at the Government General Hospital in Nizamabad, Sai Charan was later transferred to a corporate hospital in Hyderabad. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed on Wednesday. Following the post-mortem in Nizamabad, his body was transported to Khanapur for final rites.
In response to a complaint filed by Sai Charan’s sister, Harika, Dichpally police have registered a case and launched an investigation. Dichpally police sub-inspector MD Sharif stated that they are exploring multiple angles, including allegations of harassment by higher officials at Mission Bhagiratha. Sharif noted that while being transferred to Hyderabad, Sai Charan expressed to ambulance staff his disinterest in continuing his job at Mission Bhagiratha.
