Moderate rains likely in Telangana over next two days: IMD
Hyderabad: Telangana is very likely to witness light to moderate rains at a few isolated places over the next two days, said the Indian Meteorological Department.
The IMD, placing a yellow alert for Monday said, "Thunderstorm accompanied with Lightning and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) very likely to occur at isolated places in KomaramBheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Jangaon, Siddipet, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, Mahabubnagar districts of Telangana."
Social media personality and independent weather predictor, T Balaji popularly known as "Telangasna Weatherman" also said that there will be moderate to heavy rainfall in the coming three days. "As the winds slowly started weakening, the passing rains will turn into scattered thunderstorms today. It will be hot and humid today followed by scattered thunderstorms this evening - night, Hyderabad can get isolated storms today evening. Next 3days, Moderate - Heavy rains ahead in North East TG," he wrote on 'X'.
Hyderabad will also get one or two spells of rain in the next three days, he added.
Meanwhile, the Director of Enforcement,Vigilance and Disaster Management (EVDM) on Sunday warning the citizens of moderate to heavy rainfall in the city asked them to reach out at 040-21111111 or 9000113667 for GHMC-DRF assistance.
