Nalgonda: Moderate to heavy rain was reported from all mandals in the erstwhile Nalgonada district on Saturday. The highest rainfall of 15.8 mm was recorded in Miryalaguda mandal while lowest rainfall of 2.3 mm was recorded in Chityal mandal. In the last 24 hours, the district saw an average rainfall of 8.1 mm.
In Suryapet district, Chilkur mandal received the highest rainfall of 99.8 mm. Except for Mellacheruvu mandal, remaining 22 mandals witnessed moderate to heavy rainfall on the day.
Rainwater reached low-lying areas in Suryapet town. There was heavy water-logging in the town.
District collector C. Narayana Reddy said people of low-lying areas should be alert as gates of Nagarjunasagar project and Musi project were lifted and water was released to downstream. People should not go into rivers.( Source : Deccan Chronicle )
