Mohd Azharuddin Slams Harish Rao’s Allegations On Gurukul School Scam

Speaking to the media on Friday, Azharuddin dismissed Harish Rao’s claims and accused him of spreading misinformation for political purposes.

Hyderabad: Telangana Minorities Minister Mohammed Azharuddin on Friday accused BRS MLA and former minister T. Harish Rao of making false allegations about a Rs. 2,000-crore scam in the state’s Gurukul educational institutions.

Speaking to the media, Azharuddin dismissed the claims as politically motivated misinformation. “He should come up with proof and details before making such frivolous allegations. I can respond only if there are specifics,” he said.

Azharuddin said more than 6 lakh students from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes, and minority communities are enrolled in state-funded Gurukul residential schools, which provide free, high-quality English-medium education.

The Telangana government recently sanctioned Rs221.24 crore last month for Gurukul schools and government residential hostels to support nutrition, student welfare, and accommodation facilities across Telangana.
