Musi project hit to get 15,000 2BHK flats
Hyderabad: Construction activity is in full swing at various 2BHK complexes, with 15,000 units earmarked for individuals rehabilitated from the Musi riverbed. According to GHMC records, 40,496 2BHK units will be ready for occupation within four months.
“The date of allotment will be decided by the state government,” said a GHMC official.
In the GHMC area, the government had initially proposed to build one lakh 2BHK houses. Of these, allotment letters for 65,000 units were distributed to beneficiaries ahead of the Assembly elections last year. The remaining houses are at various stages of construction.
Currently, work related to electricity connections, construction of compound walls, provision of drinking water, refurbishment of lifts, and plumbing is underway at multiple sites, including Kollur (Phase II), which comprises 15,600 2BHK units.
According to GHMC records, work on developing water supply networks and electricity connections is ongoing at 20,327 dwelling units. The GHMC has paid Rs 49.04 crore to the Telangana State Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (TSSPDCL) for electricity supply and Rs 38.85 crore to the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) for water supply infrastructure.
