Nagarkurnool: SI held red-handed for accepting Rs 50k
Hyderabad: Officials of the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday arrested Veldanda sub inspector and a private person for accepting Rs 50,000 for doing official work.
According to ACB officials, the ACB officers caught Sub Inspector M Ravi of Veldanda in Nagarkurnool district for demanding Rs 50,000 and accepting the amount from G Vikram, an 102 ambulance driver. The ACB officials conducted a chemical test on the fingers of SI and a private person who tested positive. The agency officers seized cash from the accused officer. The ACB arrested both and produced them before the court for judicial remand.
Cyber awareness programme held
Hyderabad: The cyber crime police conducted a cyber awareness program about creating awareness on trading fraud, fake loan apps, FedEx, BSNL TRAI scams, part time jobs and harassment through social media on Wednesday.
The cyber cops explained about the modus operandi (MO) of the fraudsters. The officers appealed to general public not to reveal the OTP, debit and credit card details and personal information to unknown persons. Protect your info and your wallet! Shop from trusted sites and be wary of anything too good to be true.
The officials asked public to ensure the system is up-to-date, to use a secure internet connection and a strong password. People were told to be aware of pop-ups and fraudulent e-mails.
