Nalgonda Mayor Distributes Indiramma Saris

The mayor expressed confidence that the Nalgonda municipal corporation would emerge as a model civic body in the coming years

Nalgonda: Nalgonda municipal corporation mayor Burri Chaitanya Srinivas Reddy on Thursday said the Congress government has been implementing several initiatives aimed at the empowerment of women.

As part of the “Praja Palana – Pragathi Pranalika”, the mayor distributed Indiramma saris to women under the Indira Mahila Shakti scheme in Divisions 10, 11, 31, 32, 33, 34 and 41 of the municipal corporation.

Speaking on the occasion, she said the state government was implementing a range of welfare schemes to promote women's empowerment. She said the initiatives were aimed at helping women achieve financial self-sufficiency, which would contribute to their overall empowerment.

She urged women to make use of the welfare schemes being implemented by the government and improve their financial well-being. Referring to development works in Nalgonda, she said the town was witnessing rapid progress with the support of roads and buildings minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy. Development works worth hundreds of crores of rupees had already been taken up in the town, she added.

The mayor expressed confidence that the Nalgonda municipal corporation would emerge as a model civic body in the coming years. Municipal corporators Palakuri Sumalatha, Pilli Krishnam Raju, Regatte Andalu Lingaswamy, Edulla Sridhar Reddy and Kesani Venugopal Reddy were present.
