Nalgonda: People Panic and Flee Homes After Tremors Hit

Khammam: The people panicked and ran out from the houses in different mandals in erstwhile Khammam and Nalgonda district after tremors were felt at 7.27 am on Wednesday.

The people of Khammam felt tremors for three seconds and utensils in the kitchens fell down making sounds, which alerted the people. The people ran out from the houses and reached open places in the their areas. The people of Bhadrachalam were also felt tremors at 7.28 am.

In Erstwhile Nalgonda district, tremors were also felt at Chityal, Munagala, Mothkur, Arvapally, Nakerkal,Yadagirigutta and Suryapet mandals.

According to the National Center for Seismology, the earthquake originated in Kannaigudem mandal of Mulugu in Telangana and 5.3 magnitude was recorded at nearby Seismometer.

Warangal: People who woke up in the morning were shocked after sensing a small jerk for two to five seconds due to the earthquake that occurred at various places here in erstwhile Warangal and Karimnagar districts.

According to the National Centre for Seismology, the earthquake occurred at around 7.27 am and on the Richter scale it was recorded as 5.3 magnitude especially in the Godavari Delta area for five to 10 seconds.

In erstwhile Warangal district, the earthquake occurred with Mulugu district as epicentre. In Medaram, Thadvai, Pasra, Mangapet, Kamalapuram, Thimmampet, Narsapuram and Narasimha Sagar villages when earth shook for a duration of five seconds.

Earthquakes also occurred in many places of Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mahabubabad, Warangal and Hanamkonda district.

While in united Karimnagar district, the earthquake occurred in Vavilalapally, Srirampur Colony Manthani, Sultanabad, Ramagundam and Peddapalli.

Cracks appeared in some of the old houses which are in dilapidated conditions. Several utensils of the houses were scattered and fell on the ground due to the earthquake. People at many places are seen coming out of their houses to save their lives and started to discuss the incident.
