Names of Amit Shah, Kishan Reddy dropped from FIR in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Police have dropped the names of Union home minister Amit Shah and Telangana BJP chief G. Kishan Reddy from an FIR that was based on a complaint by the TPCC’s G. Niranjan alleging the use of minors in a poll campaign of the saffron party in May.

Niranjan, TPCC vice-president, had alleged that on May 1 during a BJP rally from Lal Darwaja to Sudha Talkies, a few minor children were seen on the dais with Amit Shah.

The Election Comission forwarded the complaint to the city police, resulting in the registration of an FIR against Shah, Kishan Reddy, Hyderabad candidate K. Madhavi Latha. legislator T. Raja Singh and party leader T. Yaman Singh.

Sources said that the police found that Amit Shah and Kishan Reddy had no role. A chargesheet has been filed by the police in Nampally court, an official confirmed.
