Palle Ganga Reddy assumed charge as first chairperson of the National Turmeric Board in New Delhi on Friday.

Nizambad: Palle Ganga Reddy assumed charge as first chairperson of the National Turmeric Board in New Delhi on Friday. In presence of Nizamabad MP Arvind Dharmapuri, he took charge. The National Turmeric Board was initially inaugurated on January 14 in Nizamabad. Spices Board India officials and newly allocated National Turmeric Board officials took part in the programme.
Speaking to Deccan Chronicle from New Delhi, National Turmeric Board chairperson Palle Ganga Reddy said that they will protect the interests of turmeric farmers. MP Arvind Dharmapuri worked hard to set up the National Turmeric Board in Nizamabad, he said. ‘I told Arvind Dharmapuri not to give a poll promise on bond paper for National Turmeric Board in 2019 Lok Sabha elections’, Ganga Reddy said.
Arvind Dharmapuri made serious efforts to sanction the National Turmeric Board and set up the office in Nizamabad, he said. Farming community and all others credited the MP for the achievement, he said. Turmeric farmers in the country, especially in Nizamabad district will get the benefits soon, he said. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, union home minister Amit Shah initiated steps for the National Turmeric Board, he said.
