NCTE hails ITEP, terms it game changer

Prof. Arora said the programme’s curriculum focused on child-centric education, Indian values, and equipping teachers to tackle 21st-century challenges

Hyderabad: Prof. Pankaj Arora, chairperson of the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) has hailed the Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) as a 'game changer.' Speaking at the inaugural session of a two-day national sensitisation and orientation workshop, Prof. Arora said the programme’s curriculum focused on child-centric education, Indian values, and equipping teachers to tackle 21st-century challenges. Prof. Meena Rajiv Chandawerker, Chairperson of the Southern Regional Committee (SRC) of NCTE, emphasised the role of teachers in creating environments conducive to student success, asserting that today's youth will be the architects of a better India.


Two UoH faculty members awarded Har Gobind Khorana Innovative Young Biotechnologist Fellowship

Hyderabad: Two faculty members of the University of Hyderabad (UoH) have been awarded the Har Gobind Khorana Innovative Young Biotechnologist Fellowship (IYBF) for 2023-24 for their exceptional contributions to the field of biotechnology: Dr M. Shyam Lal, associate professor in the department of animal biology; and Dr Manjari Kiran, assistant professor in the department of systems and computational biology are among the nine winners of the fellowship. Dr Lal has worked on the application of nanotechnology to biomedical challenges, focusing on the development of transdermal patches to deliver medicines through engineered nanocarriers. Dr Kiran’s research is centred on the characterisation of non-coding RNAs, a rapidly growing area of interest in molecular biology.


TGCPGET: Schedule for centralised manual verification of certificates for supernumerary seats

Hyderabad: The TGCPGET convener on Thursday released the schedule for the centralised manual verification of certificates for supernumerary seats under the children of armed personnel, National Cadet Corps, and physically handicapped categories. This verification will be conducted at the Directorate of Admissions, Osmania University (OU), Hyderabad, between September 5 and 9. Updates are available on the CPGET official website. "It is crucial for candidates to attend the verification as per the schedule to secure their seats under the respective categories," the notice by CPGET convener Prof. I. Panduranga Reddy said.
