Need Quality Education to Fight Poverty: Tummala
Khammam: Agriculture minister Tummala Nageswara Rao emphasised that poverty eradication would be possible only when quality education is made available to the marginalised sections. Launching celebrations of Minorities Welfare Day at the Telangana Minorities Residential School in Khammam on Monday, he stated that Young India Integrated Schools are aimed at making quality education accessible to students from poor families across all sections.
The minister highlighted that the state government accords top priority to education in its agenda and that the development of future generations would not be possible without ensuring quality education and health care. Noting a change in people’s perception of education, he appreciated the parents from minority sections for sending their daughters to schools and colleges after recognising the importance of education.
He mentioned that Young India Integrated School in Khammam would become a model school, the first to be opened in the state, as the building works are expected to be completed by the end of July 2025. Khammam district collector Muzammil Khan, Telangana State warehousing corporation chairman Rayala Nageswara Rao, and Khammam mayor Punukollu Neeraja were also present at the programme.
