Hyderabad: The state government has announced plans to issue new food security (ration) cards to eligible families identified through the caste census survey. Starting from January 26, the initiative aims to address long-pending complaints and ensure equitable distribution of ration cards.
Guidelines released on Monday outline a multi-tiered verification process, involving district collectors, municipal commissioners, and gram sabhas, to ensure transparency and fairness in identifying beneficiaries.
Families without ration cards will undergo field verification, and the final approved list will be submitted to the Civil Supplies Department for the issuance of new cards.
