Nirmal: An unidentified individual decamped with offerings by smashing open a hundi and jewels from an almirah at Sri Gnana Saraswathi Devasthanam in Basar of Nirmal district.
Officials said the offerings worth Rs 20,000 were stolen from the hundi.
The thief spent an hour in the temple premises about an hour, but no security officer saw him. However, a CCTV camera in the temple captured his movements.
Police deployed a sniffer dog to detect the offender.
