Nizamabad: Panjala Neeraj Goud, 23, from Bodhan, died in a road accident in the United States, while his classmate Sridhar from Nizamabad sustained serious injuries. The accident occurred on December 16 in New Haven city when their car collided with a police patrol vehicle, reportedly due to fog, according to the victims' families.
Neeraj Goud, a resident of Gouds Colony in Bodhan, and Sridhar, from Yellammagutta in Nizamabad, had travelled to the US in 2023 for higher studies. The accident happened while they were returning home from the Bridgeport area. Neeraj succumbed to his injuries while being transported to the hospital, while Sridhar remains hospitalised with serious injuries.
Police personnel in the patrol vehicle were also reportedly injured. The dense fog is believed to have caused the youths to lose control of their car, leading to the crash.
Neeraj’s father, Shankar Goud, a government school teacher in Nemli, Nasrullabad mandal, is making arrangements to bring his son’s body back to India.
