Warangal: MGM Hospital Patients Bear The Brunt of 5 Hours Power Cut
Warangal: Patients at MGM Hospital faced severe difficulties on Sunday due to a five-hour electricity interruption. According to reports, patients on ventilators in the ICU, Emergency, AMC, RICU, and Pediatrics wards struggled to breathe during the outage.
The hospital has four generators, but only one was functioning at the time, making it difficult to provide electricity to the entire facility. Hospital staff quickly repaired another generator, allowing patients to escape fatal situations.
Initially, officials believed the power cut was caused by a kite manja wire stuck on the electricity wires behind the Nursing hostel. However, power did not return, and it was later identified that the disruption was due to a glitch at the substation, which required repairs. The power went off at 4:30 PM and was restored at 9:30 PM, resulting in a nearly five-hour outage.
