Numaish Shoppers Can Now Enjoy Glitch-Free Digital Payments
Exclusive multi-service provider tower installed in premises
HYDERABAD: Here is some good news for shoppers heading to this year’s Numaish and stall holders as an exclusive multi-service provider tower has been installed in the premises to ensure glitch-free digital payments, which remained a bane for several years now. This marks the first time that such a facility is being provided in numaish that begins here on Friday.
“There were no proper signals in 2024 due to which our business took a beating as customers were not able to make online payments,” Manmeet Kaur, a stall holder, said.
“In our bid to bring respite to all concerned, we approached BSNL, Airtel, BSNL and other major service providers. We now have a tower that will be inaugurated and operational from Friday,” Aditya Margam, convener of ground and estates for numaish told Deccan Chronicle.
“Last year, our feedback from shoppers revealed that most of them prefer online payments over cash. They felt that it was risky carrying cash due to the heavy crowd that gathers every day. The society therefore decided to build its own tower,” Margam added, saying that this would hopefully put an end to technical glitches during online payments.
“But we still have to see how it handles load, the cutoff limit in terms of simultaneous transactions and vouch calls. We intend to monitor the load on peak days and correlate it with the number of tickets sold. I will personally visit stalls and collect feedback. We will update the service providers, who can accordingly ‘activate’ signals on the lapsed locations,” he said.
Meanwhile, BSNL has activated its fiber optic network to smooth debit and credit card payments.
