Oil Firms Plan To Hike LPG Cylinder Price
At present, a 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinder in Hyderabad costs ₹965. With the proposed revision, the price may rise to around ₹1,100: Reports

HYDERABAD: Oil marketing companies have sought a revision in domestic LPG cylinder prices from May, proposing an increase of ₹200, sources said. However, the Centre does not appear to be in favour of a steep hike and is considering a lower increase of around ₹100.
The request follows a rise in global crude prices linked to the West Asian crisis that began on 28 February, which has disrupted shipping movement and increased input costs for oil companies.

On March 7, domestic LPG cylinder prices were increased by ₹60, taking the price up from ₹905 to ₹965. The previous revision before that was in April 2025.
Officials and industry representatives said that despite recent increases, the country has adequate fuel stocks and there is no shortage in supply.
Crude oil prices in the international market are currently hovering around $104 per barrel. Experts attributed the rise to the ongoing conflict involving Israel and Iran, which has affected supplies from Gulf countries that account for about 80 per cent of India’s oil imports.
Disruption has led to higher freight charges, increased insurance premiums, and delays in shipments, adding to overall costs.
