One killed, two injured in bomb planted by Maoists exploded in Mulugu
Hyderabad: One person died while two others suffered injuries when a bomb planted by Maoists to kill the police exploded at Kongalagutta in Vajedu mandal in Mulugu district on Monday.
The incident triggered panic among the police and villagers who are scared whether Maoists planted more bombs at the hill to eliminate the police.
The police said I. Yesu, Ramesh and Faqeer, all residents of Jagannadhapuram village went to Kongalagutta hill to collect wooden sticks. While walking near the hill, Yesu accidentally stepped on the bomb. As a result, it exploded leading to serious injuries to Yesu (55).
Death was instant for him, while Ramesh and Faqeer escaped with minor injuries. Upon knowing the incident, the villagers rushed to the spot after informing the police and shifted the injured persons to the government hospital.
Following the incident, the police department issued an alert asking the police personnel to exercise more caution while venturing out.
