Only a Congress Government can save Delhi, Revanth tells voters
Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy said that the Congress had defeated the 'associate partner' (BRS) in the Delhi liquor scam in Telangana polls and it now aims to defeat the 'main partner' (AAP) in the same liquor scam in upcoming Delhi elections.
He said that it was time the people of Delhi defeated AAP in the interests of the country.
Reddy stated that his visit to Davos this week was aimed at attracting ₹one lakh crore in investments for Telangana.
Releasing the posters of the Congress’ guarantees promising Rs.500 gas cylinder and 300 units free supply schemes in New Delhi on Thursday, Reddy said that when the Congress made a promise to people it would fulfil it at any cost.
In a sharp attack on Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaderships, he urged voters to elect Congress in the upcoming Assembly elections.
He highlighted the one-year old Congress government's achievements in Telangana, citing the waiver of ₹21,000 crore worth of farm loans benefitting over 23 lakh farmers, and free bus travel scheme for women at a cost of ₹4,000 crore.
The Chief Minister criticised both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal for their alleged failure to improve Delhi.
“Delhi was liveable only during Sheila Dikshit’s tenure. Modi and Kejriwal have done nothing but create environmental and political pollution,” he remarked.
“Modi and Kejriwal have competed only in giving holidays and corruption. The former talks of going to the moon but he is unable to make Delhi liveable. Delhi people have seen the governance of BJP and AAP. It is high time they bring back Congress, which alone can save Delhi,” said Reddy.
He accused Modi of waiving loans worth ₹16 lakh crore for industrialists while ignoring farmers.
“No one questions how Modi finds money to waive loans for billionaires but questions arise when Congress promises guarantees for the common man,” he added.
Reddy said that Delhi’s rising pollution levels were deterring visitors from Telangana. “People from Telangana fear visiting Delhi, worried that they might end up in a hospital,” he said.
