Osmania VC Advocates AI Innovation at ICCMDN-2025

Hyderabad: Osmania University Vice Chancellor Prof. Kumar Molugaram called on academics to foster scientific temper and think innovatively to tackle challenges emerging from the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies.

“Academics must focus on solving real-world problems through research and innovation, especially in AI, which continues to transform society at a rapid pace,” Prof. Molugaram said, commending the department of computer science and information technology (CSIT) at Manuu for its impactful work. He also expressed Osmania University’s readiness to collaborate with Manuu on future projects.

He was speaking at an international conference on computational methods, data science and networking (ICCMDN-2025) at the Maulana Azad National Urdu University (Manuu).

The two-day international conference brought together more than 200 participants, including researchers, industry experts, and students from across the globe. Presiding over the event, Manuu in-charge Vice Chancellor Prof. P. Fazal Rahaman emphasised the importance of academia-industry collaboration in advancing technological innovation.

The conference saw the announcement of a multidisciplinary BTech in civil engineering programme at Manuu, set to commence from the next academic year. Prof. Ishtiaque Ahmed, registrar, described the initiative as a flagship programme aimed at bridging gaps between technology and skilled application.

Keynote speakers from Jamia Millia Islamia, the University of Dundee, and McKesson Corporation in the USA shared insights on emerging trends in computational methods and data science. Prof. Abdul Wahid, dean of the Manuu’s School of Technology stressed the need for innovation and knowledge transfer in addressing global challenges.
