Hyderabad: AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi said if Prime Minister Narendra Modi retained power, he will make Muslims scapegoats and blame Owaisis for his actions. He appealed to the cadre to vote for candidates who can defeat the BJP.
Addressing a public meeting in Hyderabad, he said, “The RSS and so called secular parties have left no stone unturned in driving a wedge between the Hindus and Muslims.”
Recalling the role of Muslims in the first War of Independence along with Jhansi Rani Laxmi Bai, he said it was the British who came up with the idea of two nations which was theorized by Savarkar by penning a book. “There won’t be a division of the country again. All of us Hindus, Muslims and Sikhs fought together for independence.”
“No other PM had ridiculed and called Muslims names by saying that we are infiltrators, those who have more children and deprive Hindu women of their mangalsutra. If we don’t raise our voice today we will have to answer our future generations,” Owaisi said.
“I appeal to the dalits and Hindus and tell them that we will never be part of efforts to deprive them of their mangalsutra. Our cadre should ensure that they vote and make others vote on May 13. These elections are meant to unseat Modi.”
In a not so veiled reference, he asked the people to back candidates in Mahbubnagar, Chevella, Secunderabad and Adilabad for defeating the BJP.
Referring to an RBI report, he said that in the last five years women of the country have mortgaged jewellery worth a lakh crores in the banks. “Families mortgage gold only in dire situations as they have a sentimental value for them. The PM who claims that he was born poor why is he not able to understand their pain. Those who vote for Modi as they hate me should look back at their own condition and see if their sister has a job,” he added.
Modi allowed 2,000 sq km of land to be conquered by China and doesn’t even take the name of the country also. If he has a 56 inch chest he should fight China and not Pakistan which is a small and insignificant nation. BJP is only spreading hatred as they have nothing to showcase as their work. People of all communities live in the Old City even as Modi says the area has been given on lease to our party, he said.
Referring to allegations of bogus voters, he said the Election Commission had rejected the contentions of the BJP and Congress leaders.
Addressing the meet, MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi said, “In last 10 years works worth `14,500 crore were done in my constituency. Then I am asked what I have done. I had ensured that a Hindu priest of Lal Darwaja gets treatment and still allegations are leveled against us. Does Gujarat model mean injustice to Bilkis Bano? Thirty percent of engineering graduates are unemployed, pulses are becoming costly, Manipur is burning, minor industries are closing shop, where are the acche din? We are second in beef exports and the BJP takes money from them through electoral bonds.”
“Mother Ganga is angry as it has not been cleaned as promised and on its banks there was no firewood to burn the bodies also. The BJP has nothing to do with Hindus,” Akbaruddin Owaisi added.
