Owaisi Questions BRS Silence on Waqf Bill and Jainoor Violence
Hyderabad:AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi said that he was surprised by the silence of BRS leaders on political developments and asked why the party had not spoken on Waqf (Amendement) Bill and violent attacks in the agency areas of Jainoor mandal in Asifabad district. He alleged that more BRS workers than those from the BJP were involved in violent attacks in Jainoor.
Addressing party workers who arrived from different districts at the party office in Darussalam, Owaisi, the Hyderabad MP, said that the BRS was free to adopt a wait-and-watch attitude but the AIMIM would take a similar stand against the party.
Owaisi asked why the police had failed to file FIRs over the violent incidents in Jainoor. He said that the violence would continue in Jainoor as long as the accused were not sent to jail.
On his X handle, Owaisi said that if the Waqf (Amendment ) Bill was passed in Parliament, the Waqf authorities would lose rights over 1.12 lakh properties out of 1.21 lakh in UP, as they don’t have legal documents. “Who will take over these properties,” Owaisi asked.
