Palle Ganga Reddy Takes Charge as National Turmeric Board Chairman

Nizamabad: The National Turmeric Board was officially launched on Tuesday in Nizamabad, marking a significant milestone for turmeric farmers in the region. Newly appointed Chairman Palle Ganga Reddy took charge during the event.

Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal virtually inaugurated the Board, highlighting the initiative's potential to boost turmeric productivity in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The launch coincided with the auspicious occasion of Sankranti.

BJP leaders, including Union Minister Piyush Goyal, Bandi Sanjay, and MP Arvind Dharmapuri, virtually participated in the programme. Prominent attendees included BJP MLAs Paidi Rakesh Reddy and Dhanpal Suryanarayana Gupta, Spices Board officials, and farmers from the region.

Farmers arrived at the event in traditional style, carrying turmeric plants, underscoring the cultural and economic importance of turmeric farming. The creation of the National Turmeric Board fulfills a long-standing demand of turmeric growers in the area.
