Parking Application's Errors Frustrate Metro Users
Hyderabad: Hyderabad Metro Rail users are facing frequent issues at parking spaces due to problems with the Park Hyderabad app. Many commuters report that after paying the parking fee online, the app fails to confirm that their vehicle has checked out.
The glitch has led to vehicles being marked as parked for longer than they actually are. This makes the users being charged additional parking fee the next day, as the system assumes the vehicle was parked overnight.
“I pay the parking fee through the app, and the amount gets deducted but the successfully checked-out message doesn’t appear. The next day the system shows double the usual amount as due, considering the vehicle as being parked for two days,” said B. Ramakrishna, a regular commuter.
Another commuter Amrithesh said, “I paid the parking fee through the app, but it didn’t confirm the checkout. The next day, I saw that I owed charges for two days.”
“Since the due amount was only Rs.50, I paid it. But it is happening quite frequently now,” Amrithesh added.
Commuters say they constantly get into arguments with the security staff at the parking space. The staff, however, expressed their helplessness about the situation.
