Parvathagiri SI, Constable in ACB net in bribe case

Hyderabad: Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday caught Giuguloth Venkanna, a Sub Inspector (SI) of Parvathagiri police station in Warangal district, red-handed at the police station when he allegedly demanded and accepted a part payment of the bribe amount of Rs.40,000 from the complainant Badavath Bhaskar.

He demanded the bribe through another accused Pasunoori Sadanandam, who is an armed reserve police constable (ARPC) and also driver of the police station vehicle for doing an official to issue notices under Section 41(A) Cr.Pc. and to give station bail to the complainant and two others in a criminal case registered against them at the police station.

The bribe amount was recovered from the possession of the constable. The right-hand fingers of the constable and the contact portion of the right-side front pocket of his trouser yielded positive results in the chemical test. Following the demand of the SI, the accompanying witness Ajmeera Venkat transferred an amount of Rs. 20,000 through Phonepe to Rambabu, a private person.

The ACB officials arrested SI and the constable and produced them before the special court for ACB cases in Warangal district after which the court remanded them to judicial custody.
