Patriotic fervour marks I-Day fete in Karimnagar
Karimnagar: Patriotic fervour marked the 78th Independence Day celebrations with National Flags installed on every house as part of ‘Har-Ghar Tiranga’ and by hoisting Tricolours in colonies, villages, mandals and at the district headquarters here in erstwhile Karimnagar on Thursday.
Right from early hours, celebrations were held in a festival-like atmosphere with active participation of various sections of people. Small children were seen busy attending the celebrations at their respective schools.
The administrations of Peddapalli, Karimnagar, Rajanna Sircilla and Jagtial made elaborate arrangements for the celebrations.
In Karimnagar, IT minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu hoisted the National Flag; in Peddapalli, the state women commission chairperson Nerella Sharada hoisted the National Flag, in Jagtial, the government chief whip and the Dharmapuri MLA Adluri Laxman Kumar hoisted the Tricolour and in Rajanna Sircilla district, government chief whip and Vemulawada MLA Aadi Srinivas hoisted the National Flag.
The chief guests who participated in the celebrations explained about the development programmes of the respective districts and distributed appreciation letters to the best employees of various departments.
