Pending Rs 13K-Cr Crop Loans to Be Waived by Dec: Ponguleti
Khammam: Minister for revenue Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Saturday informed that the pending Rs 13,000 crore pertaining to crop loan waiver would be cleared by the end of next month.
Distributing Kalyana Lakshmi cheques to beneficiaries at his camp office in Kusumanchi, he said that the state government waived crop loans worth Rs 18,000 crore for farmers whose crop loans were up to Rs 2 lakh. The waiver of crop loans above Rs 2 lakh is pending and that would be cleared.
He said that purchasing of paddy through paddy procurement centers (PPCs) would continue until procurement of the last grain from the farmers and a bonus of Rs 500 per quintal would be extended to paddy of fine rice varieties.
He said that as promised 57,000 vacant jobs were filled up by the Congress government in last 10 months. He reminded that written tests of Group-I, Group-II and Group-II examinations were held by the Telangana Public Service Commission and appointment letters would be issued to selected candidates in December this year.
