People complain about Metro’s info blackout

Hyderabad: With the Hyderabad Metro Rail services halting on the Nagole-Raidurg route during the busy morning hours, people took to X to complain about the lack of information provided by the staff regarding the delayed services.

Users mentioned that the online ticket booking system was inoperable, and no information was available at the ticket counter, which could have helped them choose alternative transport options. The online system did not resume even two hours after the delays began.

While passengers were stranded at these stations due to the glitch, some opted for alternative modes of transport.

"There were more customers today. Office-going commuters were hopping into autos. There was a slight surge in prices on aggregator apps, although it didn't benefit auto drivers much," said Ramesh, an auto driver near Ameerpet Metro Station.

“Ameerpet, being an interchange station, receives huge crowds on weekdays, especially during peak hours. We were instructed to hold passengers and manage the crowd," said Vinod, Station Controller at Ameerpet Metro Station.

"Regular services were resumed within an hour and a half. Passengers were asked to wait for a while, but there wasn't a huge crowd or major mismanagement," said Bhanuprasad, Station Controller at Parade Ground Metro Station.

However, a sanitation staff member at the station said, “There was a metro every 15 minutes, as opposed to one every five minutes on other days."
