Phone Tapping Case: Police Submit Revised Chargesheet

Hyderabad: As the court had rejected the chargesheet into the phone tapping case that was filed on June 11 due to technical issues, the police on Tuesday re-submitted the chargesheet in three sealed carton boxes and one plastic bag containing pen drives and CDs.

The police also filed a memo in which they requested the court not to disclose the material and documents of the chargesheet to any other person, including the accused persons. This was essential as there would be further investigation of two prime accused T. T. Prabhakar Rao and Sravan Kumar, who are absconding.

The additional chief metropolitan magistrate court heard the bail petitions filed by accused Bhujanga Rao and Thirupathanna.

Senior counsel Surender Rao argued on behalf of the petitioners and submitted to the court that the charge sheet was not filed by the police in the mandatory period of ninety days and hence, the accused were eligible for bail.

As the arguments were incomplete, the court adjourned the bail petitions to Wednesday. Meanwhile, another accused D. Praneeth Rao also filed a bail petition.
