PJTSAU and IIRR sign MoU to collaborate on enhancing paddy productivity
Prof. Janaiah also noted the potential for Telangana to become a key exporter of rice to countries such as the Philippines

Hyderabad: The Prof. Jayashankar Telangana Agricultural University (PJTSAU) and the Indian Institute of Rice Research (IIRR), based in Hyderabad, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on enhancing paddy productivity. The agreement was formalised in a ceremony held at PJTSAU's administrative building at Rajendranagar, attended by PJTSAU Vice-Chancellor Professor Aldas Janaiah, IIRR Director Dr. R. Meenakshi Sundaram, and PJTSAU Registrar Dr G.E. Ch. Vidyasagar.
During the event, Prof. Janaiah emphasised the importance of developing climate-resilient rice varieties and the role of carbon credits in supporting farmers. He also noted the potential for Telangana to become a key exporter of rice to countries such as the Philippines.
Dr Meenakshi Sundaram expressed confidence that the MoU would foster greater collaboration between the two institutions, ultimately benefiting farmers and improving agricultural practices.
The event was attended by senior officials and scientists from both PJTSAU and IIRR.
