Plans for Osmania Hospital Revamp Reviewed; Foundation Ceremony on Jan. 31
Hyderabad: Health minister Damodar Rajanarsimha on Tuesday reviewed proposed designs for the new buildings of the Osmania General Hospital at Goshamahal, ahead of the foundation stone laying ceremony scheduled for January 31.
Senior officials from the health and roads and buildings departments presented a revised incorporating the changes suggested by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy during a detailed review meeting on January 25.
Officials briefed Rajanarsimha on the changes, focusing on balancing contemporary facilities with the hospital’s historic legacy.
The revamped hospital, Rajanarsimha said, would integrate advanced medical infrastructure, ensuring functional, sustainable designs that preserve its iconic heritage while meeting current healthcare demands.
ACB traps Tirumalagiri S.I., Constable
Suryapet: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday arrested Tirumalagiri sub-inspector V. Suresh and constable Nagaraju after catching them accepting a bribe of Rs 1.4 lakh from a person.
Suresh allegedly demanded Rs 3 lakh from Chandrashekhar, former sarpanch of Vaddepally in Medak district, for issuance of a notice under Section 35 of the BNSS Act to avoid arrest in a criminal case.
Chandrashekhar approached the ACB, which laid a trap and caught Suresh and Nagaraju red-handed while accepting Rs 1.4 lakh from the former sarpanch. The duo was produced before a court for remand.
