Police arrest two youth for murder of a minor girl
Hyderabad: Miyapur police detected the sensational murder of a 17-year-old missing girl with the arrest of two men on Monday.
The accused, according to the police, had on November 8 called the victim to an isolated place in Meerpet where one of the accused Vignesh (24), alias Chintu, strangulated her to death. Later, with the help of his friend Saket he transported the victim’s body on a bike to an abandoned plastic factory in Tukkuguda the same night.
Vignesh was arrested from his house in Uppuguda around 6.30 am. Based on his confession, Saket (22) was also arrested, K Kranthi Kumar, Miyapur police inspector, told Deccan Chronicle.
The victim, a resident of Miyapur, was missing since November 8. Her parents had lodged a missing complaint.
“We formed special teams and identified the accused. He was in contact with the victim through Instagram,” the inspector said.
Police registered a case of murder against the accused and shifted the victim’s body to Gandhi hospital mortuary for postmortem. They later handed over the body to the grieving parents.
