Hyderabad: The police kept BRS working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) under house arrest here on Tuesday for planning to stage a protest against the arrest of party MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy for using objectionable language while arguing with Jagtial MLA M Sanjay Kumar at a reviewing meeting in Karimnagar district recently.
Following information that KTR would stage a protest against the arrest of Reddy, a police team rushed to his house in Gachibowli and kept him under house arrest. When KTR sought to know the reasons behind his house arrest, the police convinced him saying that any kind of protest would lead to unnecessary problems.
The police arrested Reddy in Hyderabad after three FIRs were registered against him. Using objectionable language, Reddy argued with Sanjay Kumar, who joined the Congress, during the review meeting at the district Collectorate auditorium.
The police immediately intervened and evicted Reddy from the auditorium.
