Police Raid Obscene Mujra Party in Alinagar, Organizer Arrested

HYDERABAD: In the early hours of Monday, a police raid at a residence in Alinagar, Balapur, led to the arrest of a local contractor who was allegedly organizing a 'Mujra' party featuring cross-dressers performing obscene dances. The party, which took place at the residence of Mohammed Amir, was attended by over 70 guests who were reportedly watching the vulgar performances during the raid.

According to police sources, the performers were seen dancing to the song "Doodh Ban Jaoongi Malai Ban Jaoongi" from the movie Sarhad: Border of Crime. The 'Mujra' party, held as part of Amir's eldest son's engagement function, was staged on a digital sound system and several invited guests attended

The Balapur police team, acting on a tip-off from concerned locals, arrived at Amir's house around 1:40 AM. Upon seeing the police, the cross-dressers fled through a rear exit. Police managed to seize the sound system and other equipment used for the event.

Mohammed Amir (52), the organizer of the event, was taken into custody for questioning. Police have filed a case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including Section 296 (public nuisance), Section 270 (negligent act likely to spread infection), and Section 292 (obscene acts and songs). An FIR has been lodged against Amir, and investigations are underway to identify the individual allegedly responsible for sourcing the cross-dressers for such private functions.

Police sources confirmed that efforts are being made to track down the main organizer of the 'Mujra' performances, who is believed to supply cross-dressers to clients across the twin cities for similar private parties.

The incident has sparked public concern over the rising number of such private functions, and the police have vowed to intensify surveillance and action to curb such illegal activities.
