Police register cases against 11 for symbolic protest funeral of CM Revanth

Adilabad: The Thalamadugu police have registered cases against 11 individuals, including local farmers and leaders from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), for orchestrating a symbolic funeral procession for Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. This act of protest was staged in Ruyyadi village, Talamadugu mandal, to voice grievances over the inadequate implementation of a crop loan waiver.

According to Adilabad DSP Jeevan Reddy, the group proceeded with the rally without obtaining the necessary permissions. He emphasised that such actions, which could be interpreted as insulting figures in high constitutional offices, are considered undemocratic. DSP Reddy warned that the police would take stringent measures against any further protests that demean public officials in this manner.
